At the word of command of Mr. Yang Zhixiong, vice chairman of the board of the group, at 11:18 am on May 15, 2016, a steel structure member of the International Building was hosted slowly. The first section of steel tubular column rested steadily above the first section of pre-buried short column. The hoisting ceremony of steel structure of the International Building was witnessed by directors of the board of the group and leaders of related departments, leaders and designers of Guangdong Architectural Design Research Institute, leaders and construction managers of Shanghai Baoye Group Co., Ltd., principals of Zhuhai Construction Supervision Co., Ltd.
The International Building is an international 5A intelligent comprehensive office building invested and developed independently by Great Aim Group and integrating office, conference, convention and exhibition, R&D and commerce. The US Gensler which is ranked top in the world is invited to plan and design its architectural scheme. With a unique appearance, its glass curtain walls feature elegant and pretty lines, which highlight the aesthetics of post-modernism. Occupying an area of 14,310 ㎡, with a total floor area of 111,682 ㎡, the project sits on the intersection of Qinhai East Road and Guan'ao Road in Hengqin New District and consists of a 26-floor tower, a 15-floor tower and a 4-floor annex building. After the project is completed, it will become the new headquarters of the group, and a landmark architecture in Hengqin New District. Besides, six subsidiary companies will also move into the International Building, including Zhuhai Hengqin Great Aim Optical Communication Co., Ltd., Zhuhai Hengqin Great Aim Investment Holdings Co., Ltd., Zhuhai Hengqin South China Energy Saving and Environment Protection Products Sales Co., Ltd., Zhuhai CIP Investment Co., Ltd., Research Institute of White Light Communication, and Zhuhai Hengqin Great Aim, New Guangyu Power Supplies Sales Co., Ltd.
On that day, after the steel column was hoisted in place, Mr. Miao Guoshu, general manager of Shenzhen subsidiary of Jiangsu Huajian announced, "The first hoisting of steel structure of the International Building makes a success".
Mr. You Zhiwen, general manager of Shanghai Baoye Group, made a report on the specific work arrangement of the steel structure. You said, though the project was high in difficult and tight in schedule, and the design drawings were not complete, Baoye Group had the ability, confidence and determination to overcome all difficulties and complete the installation of steel structure of the building on time.
The International Building was the first development project developed by the group with an aim to win Lu Ban Award, on which Yang Zhixiong, vice chairman of the board, put forward three working requirements. Firstly, while guaranteeing engineering quality and building cost plan, the construction drawings of steel structure of the International Building should be detailed and optimized sooner to ensure that the milestone plan under each stage of the project is completed. Secondly, the safety of structure and construction process of the project should be guaranteed. Thirdly, the engineering quality should be guaranteed under the targets of winning a provincial award for excellence for design, winning a gold award for steel structure construction and winning Lu Ban Award for overall construction quality.
With the leaping development of Hengqin New District, promoted by the national policy of "One Belt One Road" and the development of free trade zone, Hengqin New District is set to become a demonstrative zone for a close cooperation of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau under the "one country, two system" policy.
